Feldioara (in German Marienburg, translated as “The City of Mary” in Latin Castrum Sancte Maria) is a locality in the county of Brasov in Transylvania. The Evangelical Church is located in the east of the locality. According to historical prints and traditions, the headquarters of the Order of the Knights of Barsa Country was here between 1211-1225. The church is built in the Gothic style, on the foundation of the basilica of the end of the XIII-th century. The church was built by the Saxon colonists immediately after the departure of the Teutonic quartets from the hill fortress and whose fortifications are here.
