Haptics

Haptics is any form of interaction involving touch. The term derives from the ancient Greek word “haptikós” which means “able to come in contact with”. Haptic equipment is means to kinesthetic communication. This means that haptic devices are able to recreate the sense of touch by applying forces, vibrations, or motions to the user. This kind of mechanical stimulation can be used to assist in the creation of virtual objects in a computer simulation, to control such virtual objects, and to enhance the remote control of machines and devices. Haptic devices may incorporate tactile sensors that measure forces exerted by the user on the interface.

Our team has a wide experience with haptic systems. We can develop innovative systems which combine multi-sensory input, allowing users to experience a high-quality kinaesthetic haptic feedback. We can also integrate several concepts and technologies, including artificial intelligence, sensors, haptics and mechatronics.
